Winning hearts before correcting minds

A Masterclass for Mothers

Session Overview

Today’s generation is growing up in a world shaped by rapid technological change, social media, and cultural influences that often leave parents feeling disconnected from their children. Many mothers struggle to understand the mindset, emotions, and communication style of Generation Z, leading to misunderstandings that weaken relationships instead of strengthening them. This Masterclass, Truce with Gen-Z: Winning Hearts Before Correcting Minds, is designed to help mothers bridge that gap with wisdom, compassion, and practical Islamic guidance.

Rather than focusing on criticism or control, this session explores how meaningful relationships are built through empathy, trust, effective communication, and sincere concern. Participants will gain insights into the unique challenges facing Gen-Z, learn why traditional parenting approaches may no longer be effective in every situation, and discover practical ways to nurture faith, character, and emotional connection without creating unnecessary conflict. The masterclass encourages mothers to become trusted guides who inspire their children through understanding before correction.

By the end of this session, participants will be able to:

  • Understand the worldview, challenges, and emotional needs of Generation Z.
  • Recognize common communication barriers between mothers and their children.
  • Apply Islamic principles of wisdom, mercy, and effective communication in parenting.
  • Build stronger relationships based on trust, respect, and meaningful dialogue.
  • Develop practical strategies to guide young hearts while preserving love, confidence, and family harmony
